Luxury in Beauty Care

Even before avocado oil’s great qualities as a cooking oil started becoming wider known worldwide, the cosmetics industry had already identified its qualities started using it as a base product. However the avocado oil used by the industry is usually processed from poor quality fruit and then refined (which involves heating and chemical extraction). This process robs the oil of many excellent qualities.

Avoceleon is made from 100% Cretan organically grown avocados. We use no heat or solvents during extraction or processing, instead our avocados are naturally cold-pressed into an extra virgin avocado oil. This ensures that Avoceleon retains the impressive variety of vitamins and nutrients that make avocado into a super-fruit, elevating it from a simply very effective base oil into an exceptional complete skin care product, that moisturizes, nurishes and heals your skin in the gentle yet profound way only traditional, natural products can.

Why is avocado oil great for your skin?

One of the main reasons that avocado oil is of great importance in beauty care and for the cosmetic industry is that it contains phytosterols (plant fats) which have the same penetrating abilities as lanolin. They permit avocado oil to be easily absorbed into the deep tissue and so make it eminently suitable for skin and massage creams, massage oils and all other preparations which are used for applying to, or rubbing into the skin. In fact avocado oil has been found to have greater penetration that other vegetable oils and to also be a very good conveyor of vitamins and nurishment to the glands that lie behind the skin.

Its qualities as a carrier for other substances which are not capable of their own accord to permeate into the skin ensure two different usages for this exceptional oil:

1) Avocado oil can be used in its pure form as a natural and effective beauty and pharmaceutical aid in skin and scalp care. The phytosterols in it act as a carrier and ensure maximum absorption of the numerous vitamins, nutrients and other beneficial substances that are inherent in extra virgin avocado oil.

2) It is also very effective as a base for preparing essential oils’ mixes, even (and especially) for dehydrated, sun or climate damaged skin. A mix that includes avocado oil will take advantage of all the beneficial properties of the oil itself, while also providing a highly penetrative base for any essential oils you may choose to add.

The phytosterols in avocado oil are high in Sterolins, compounds with anti-inflammatory and immune modulating qualities. Studies have shown that sterolins facilitate the softening of the skin, imparting a superior moisturizing effect, they help heal sun damage and reduce the incidence of age spots. The avocado oil’s phytosterols are of great help to sensitive, irritated skin. They relieve dryness and the itching sensation improve the appearance of the skin and in some cases eliminate the irritation. These properties of avocado oil can be especially valuable in alleviating inflammatory skin conditions like blemishes, eczema and psoriasis.

A high sterol content can also be beneficial to a thin, fragile skin due to its restructuring properties. All things considered, avocado oil is an extremely effective moisturizing and nourishing compound, assisting in the regeneration and rejuvenation of the skin.

Avocado oil is rich in vitamins, an impressive amount of vitamins in fact, notably vitamins A, E, D, B1, B2, K and PP (better known as Niacin). Most beneficial for your skin care are vitamin A, which amongst other things increases cell-turnover and helps prevent dryness, as well as vitamin E (Tocopherols) and vitamin D, which are effective against skin wrinkling. When applied to the skin, these vitamins cause it to be suppler and are thus particularly good for dry or mature skin. Vitamin E specifically is well known as a very powerful helper against the skin ageing process, fighting free radicals and protecting skin cells from oxidizing.

Avocado oil has been scientifically proven to significantly mobilise and increase the level of soluble collagen in connective tissue, helping to keep skin soft and mobile. Collagen is an extremely important skin protein that provides elasticity, vitality and youthful appearance and is normally under attack as we grow older but it is also important in improving wound healing. This means that applying avocado oil offers better skin repair and anti-aging benefits, as well as better elasticity and thicker, more resilient skin. […]
